Earth Suf Stole

It has been hand embroidered using Suf embroidery technique by expert hands of national award winner, Smt. Dayaben Dohat of Tharad village, Kutch, Gujarat. Suf is a painstaking embroidery based on the triangles. Suf is counted on the warp and weft of the cloth in a surface satin stitch worked from the back. Motifs are not drawn, so each artisan imagines her design, then counts it out in reverse. This highly skilled work requires an understanding of geometry and keen eyesight. It sometimes takes a fortnight or more to create a masterpiece like this. Size : 20x70 inch
