Your Winter Dress Code: Kurtis & Sarees Under Rs.999!

By Sulagna Chakrabarti October 30, 2017
336

It’s that time of the year when you begin to renew your winter dress code according to the hottest fall colours. Push your Summer wardrobe deep inside, cause gorgeous winters are just around the corner. We know you can’t wait to cozy it up in those warm sweaters and jackets once more.

The best part? We all love our winter bodies! The truck is to find the perfect colour to compliment you and not just stick to Greys, Blacks, Browns and Taupes. Scroll down through this list of winter colours 2017 and get your fashion fix!

  • Airy Blue

319

It is almost inevitable that everyone seems to be in love with the colour blue. With designers all over the world formulating collections around the colour blue, it is surprising that the airy blue colour, a summer staple is rocking most ramps. Perhaps it is meant a reminder of clear blue skies on a gloomy winter morning. Whatever be the interpretation, this airy blue colour is most welcome during dreary winters.

  • Cobalt Blue

321

The deeper, darker and more mysterious cousin of the airy blue colour, navy or cobalt blue never really fails to make a statement. One of the easiest colour to colour block or add to, navy blue and cobalt blue kurtas can be worn with leggings, patialas or palazzos of absolutely any colour. You can also go completely monochromatic in a striking navy or cobalt blue saree and pair it with metallic colored blouses. When in doubt, go Blue!

  • Pastel

322

A staple summer shade, pastels have been embraced by a number of designers in their fall, winter collection. Powdered and Ombre pastels are one of the most popular combinations. Sweet, charming lilac is one of the most feminine colours and is perfect for those who absolutely hate the Greys and Blacks of winters but don’t want to exactly paint themselves in bright summer shades

  • Aurora Red

325

Unlike the bold crimson or the sultry burgundy, aurora red comes with sensual and warm undertones. Perfect for the winter mood, aurora red kurtis, sarees or even lehengas can hero any occasion, be it a regular day at work, an evening out with friends or something as grand as a wedding. Reminiscent of the colour of blood, this colour can definitely get your blood running! To keep up the drama, match these with coral and tangerine shades.

  • Fuchsia and Pink

327

Fuchsia and Pink can instantly brighten up a dull atmosphere and hence fits perfectly onto this list. This colour looks great at daytime and is perfect if you are going to work or catching up with friends on a brunch. If pink isn’t really your thing, try its elegant cousin fuchsia. Winter time is perfect for rich colours which look even better on handwoven or handloom textiles. With wedding season just around the corner make sure you have one fuchsia piece!

  • Tangerine

329

Who thought this would make it to the winter list! This bright colour almost physically emanates happiness and is the perfect pop to dreary winter colours. Keep the colour monochrome and experiment with interesting cuts like frills, winged sleeves, bowed blouses and embroidered kurtas. If you aren’t used to such a bright colour, you can cut through the offset with something like brown, cobalt blue, white or black palazzo or leggings.

  • Lush Green

330

If you have been avoiding this colour all along or have been considering it too jarring for warm summer months, this winter is the proper opportunity to bring out this beautiful lush colour. Elegant and sophisticated, lush green kurtis and sarees are perfect when you want to express your spunky side. Interestingly this colour pairs extremely well with airy blue and tangerine, two other very popular winter colours of the season.

  • Khaki & Olive Green

332

With millennials tapping into their wild vein, khaki and olive green is a great expression of your love for the wild outdoors. Fall also happens to be an amazing time to wrap up for safari dreams for the year. The muted Khakhi and Olive green colours are for a soul who would love to begin their day with a great cup of coffee and then get on to work their way systematically through the day, just like locating an animal in the wild, unobstrusive and efficient.

  • Mustard

333

One of the most vibrant colours of any season, spicy Mustards can hold its own without any assistance. Monochromatic mustard Kurtas add an extra bit of zing to your day and all you have to do is pair them with White, Back or Cobalt Blue leggings or Kurtas – all wardrobe staples of every Indian girl. If you are hopping off for a date or outing right after work, just let your hair down and let the mustard work its magic.

  • Rust

334

Rust or more popularly termed as “Potter’s clay colour” this couture season, is for those who like muted, earthy shades. Rust catches the light perfectly and works beautifully with the winter sun. Almost bordering on a dark red, rust is a lovely hybrid of brown and orange, reminiscent of rustling autumn foliage. Again a colour with a lot of personality, rust can stand out on its own and requires only wardrobe essentials to be paired with.

Stock up on these Winter Dress code essentials before they are sold out!
